Dear 5Ga,

The CA is over and it is time to reflect on your results and think of how you can make progress in the next term. Always believe in yourselves and do your very best.

Now it is time to start on our post examinations activity- the Heritage Problem Based Learning.

The class will be divided into 12 expert groups and 2 groups will be assigned to be the experts for a historical heritage site. A problem statement is given to you and you are tasked to complete the task by the end of the week. Have an enriching and fun time on your learning journey!

Problem Statement Singapore may be a small country but it has a lot to offer visitors in terms of its rich history. We have various areas of historical importance but these places are not attracting as many visitors as possible. Singaporeans in general are also not aware of the places of historical importance. As a result, the Urban Redevelopment Authority is coming up with plans to transform these places into either industrial or residential zones. The National Heritage Board is stepping in to prevent these places from being destroyed. The National Heritage Board is running a contest to get Singaporeans to come up with plans to attract people to visit the different places in our country and at the same time to educate Singaporeans on the importance of these sites. Your class has been invited to participate.  

Historical Sites

MacRitchie Reservoir

Civic District 1:  Sites include Raffles Landing Site, Empress Place, Dalhousie Obelisk, Lim Bo Seng Memorial, Cenotaph and Tan Kim Seng Fountain

Civic District 2: Sites include Old Supreme Court, Central Fire Station, Asian Civilisation Museum (Old Tao Nan School) and National Archives of Singapore.
